Kindness

Do you remember when you were little, and your parents always told you to make handmade gifts, or handmade cards?  As a kid, I never know how precious it was to the "older people".   It was just a card, with me saying something.  Why would they want this junk?  Now I know.
My sister-n-law's friend is a 4th grade teacher, and she was teaching a lesson on kindness.  She told them about how Bryan needed a new kidney, and how Sandy donated one of her kidneys to him.  So they wrote Bryan "Get well" cards, and wrote Sandy "You're a hero" cards.  Seriously, the sweetest, most precious cards I've ever read.
Thank you Mrs. Austin and her entire 4th grade class!!  You all are so amazing.  Never ever forget how powerful a card is.. especially a handwritten one.  We love it.  Here are just some of the cards.
"What he said."  I love it.

I love the people on the slide.  Juan's the man.

"For the bravest sole ever"

This is my handsome, and newly renovated husband.  I like to call him Bryan 2.0
Believe it or not, this is his transplant scar!!!  You can't even see it!!!  It's pretty incredible.
As for an update, as you can see, Bryan is doing FANTASTIC!!  He's been walking around since TWO DAYS after his surgery on Feb 14th.  Since then, he has gotten his energy back, his appetite is back, and he doesn't look sick anymore.  AND NO DIALYSIS!!!  It's amazing what modern medicine can do.  Thank you x's infinity for all of those who prayed and sent well wishes our way. Thank you!!

Jessica and Eric Eshoot

My couples rock.  Seriously.  Jessica and Eric were so much fun.  And look how much in love they are!  Stay tuned for their wedding coming up next month!
We made a stop by The Cupcake Spot, their cupcake vendor for their wedding.  Is there anything better than a cupcake, really?

I said "give me a flirty leg", and this is what Eric does.  Thanks Eric.
And the pic I wanted..
Eric kept talking about the "Toyota pose".  I had no idea what he was talking about, so I made him show me.  OOOOH THAT Toyota pose!
The cupcakes Jessica and Eric gave Bryan and I.  S'MORES!  And so delicious.
Then we went to Cassis for a drink.
I loved that Jessica let me put her ring in the martini.  She actually suggested it!
And then we made our way to the new Salvador Dali Museum.
This girl knows how to walk and turn heads, for sure.
At the end the day, Eric gave us a little dance.
Jessica and Eric, thanks for rockin it!  You guys were so relaxed and so much fun.  I absolutely can't wait for your wedding coming up SOON!!!

OBESSED

I know I don't do this nearly enough as I should if I want people to actually know what I'm talking about.  Every now and then I write a blog with all the things I'm obsessing over at this moment in time.  If you ask my husband, he will tell you that when I love something, I obsess.  I don't stop thinking about it.  I don't stop doing it.

I would say that my Glee Soundtracks would still be on my obsessed list, but my CD player in my car broke over a month ago, and I'm not exactly Ipod savvy.  Glee, I miss you.  I still sing your songs all the time.

That leads me to my first obsession.
  • The 2011 Hyundai Tucson.  No, this isn't officially my car yet.  Believe me, I'm counting down the days.  I test drove it.  I loved it.  I narrowed down the search, and its warranties beat out the other cars I was looking at.  Did I already say I love it?  And this may sound petty, but it's turn radius is outstanding!  You could make your way around a quarter if you tried.. well, maybe not.  But I bet it would be close!  Ever since I decided this was going to be my next car, I've been researching reviews, looking at pictures..  If you're my facebook friend, you might have seen my poll for which color I should get.  Chai Bronze won.

  • The Ipad.  My love.  I depend on it for everything.  Can't decide where to eat?  Urbanspoon.  Want to play mindless games?  Angry Birds and some kind of matching dice game.  Tons of reading material, PANDORA, Tour wrist, Words with Friends and other awesome apps.. but mostly mindless games.  And I don't have to lug around my laptop to my consultations!  It's my lifeline.  Completely.
  • American Idol!!!  I was worried that it was going to be lame this year since Simon left.  I have no idea why I thought that..  STEVEN TYLER IS A JUDGE!  I love that man.  I also love Casey Abrams.  The talent that oozes of that guy.. unbelievable.  In my opinion, he's the obvious choice to win, but then again I thought the same thing about Crystal Bowersox.  My other favorites are Paul McDonald, Lauren Alaina and Pia Toscano.
  • I've recently become Pescatarian.  For those thinks that's a religion, it's not.  It's like vegetarian, but I eat fish and seafood.  It has its moments of being very difficult.  Eating out is the easy part, because who doesn't like to eat shrimp and scallops?  The hard part is eating at home, because Bryan doesn't follow my new pescatarian lifestyle.  SO, I have introduced Morningstar Farms into my life.  Bryan makes fun of me because in his mind, fake meat is nasty.  But my hot, adorable hubby couldn't be more wrong.  These patties are DELICIOUS!  The prime burgers, black bean, "turkey" and "chik'n", veggie..  I want to try the breakfasts!
  • My mascara.  Ok ladies, clumps are evil.  I've searched high and low for the perfect mascara.  And I found her.  Bare Minerals has a mascara called "Flawless Definition".  It's fabulous.   http://www.bareescentuals.com/bareMinerals-Flawless-Definition-Mascara---Black/masterflawless,default,pd.html?start=1&cgid=BM_SUB_MASCARA

Kayla and Calvin Eshoot

I love it when my clients are just like me.  Even down to Kayla's necklace.. that's MY necklace!  They both hate the beach.. I hate the beach too!!  And.. she hates birds.  I love this girl.
It was at this shoot, I wished I was about 5 inches taller.  Kayla, God bless her, is 5'10''.  Me, a measley 5'1''.  Short life is a hard life!  If you're my facebook friend, you probably saw my plea to grow or I'm forced to carry a step stool around for the rest of my life.
Calvin moved here from South Africa about 5 years ago.  My heart skipped a beat when I heard that.  One day, I'll make it there.  He had such a great accent, and what a great smile.  And I loved how he made Kayla smile.  I had to refrain myself from hugging them..  didn't want to completely freak them out.  But they were defintely adorable.
